Stephen Quinn, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Quinn has over twenty four years experience as a mental health professional in a variety of clinical settings and is the founder and clinical director of Stephen Quinn, Psy.D. and Associates, Inc.. Dr. Quinn has provided mental health services in a variety of clinical and community settings, including residential treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, home-based treatment outreach, private consultation and private practice. Dr. Quinn’s clinical experience has provided him extensive experience in treating many psychological disorders, including: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, reactive attachment disorder, personality disorders, pervasive development disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, family and relationship issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and learning disabilities.

Dr. Quinn received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology in Arlington, Virginia. While completing his doctorate, Dr. Quinn served as the assistant director of a home-based treatment agency that served children and families in Fairfax County and as an adjunct faculty member in Psychology at Northern Virginia Community College. He completed his internship in Child, Adolescent and Adult clinical psychology at the The Psychiatric Institute of Washington, where he provided psychological treatment and administered psychological evaluations to patients of all ages.

In his practice, Dr. Quinn provides psychological consultation to individuals, schools and post doctoral psychology students seeking licensure in clinical psychology. His clinical focus is on psychological testing of children, adolescents and adults and providing psychotherapy to individuals of all ages. Dr. Quinn provides psychological consultation services to private schools and public charter schools in the District of Columbia. He has conducted hundreds of psychological evaluations (I.Q., achievement and social emotional) on school aged children (5 to 18 years) and adults. Through this experience Dr. Quinn has become familiar with the special education system, the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and strategies to implement when an IEP is developed. Through his years of clinical practice, Dr. Quinn has developed particular expertise in the management of child and adolescent behavioral challenges and the coordination of treatment plans among families, schools, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers.

Dr. Quinn also provides supervision to individuals who are seeking licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. Dr. Quinn is licensed as clinical psychologist and school psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is licensed as a clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia and has been member of the American Psychological Association since 1997. He is a native of Northern Virginia, where he lives with his wife and two children.


Sameet Ashfaq, MSW

 

Sameet Ashfaq is a multilingual (English/Urdu/Hindi/Punjabi) individual who holds a masters in social work, currently pursuing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology, PsyD. Her background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults within various clinical settings including residential treatment facilities, home-based treatment centers, outpatient mental health clinics, as well as private practices. She is also adept in conducting assessments for individuals across various ages and performing cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, attention/concentration, trauma-related, autism-spectrum, medical related, as well as substance-use assessments. Ms. Ashfaq has a great deal of experience working with severe mental illness, as well as providing educational supports including IEP and 504 meetings. She further has experience working with individuals obtaining treatment for substance use, as well as working with women obtaining treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder. Her research background includes working with Walter Reed Army and Naval Medical Research center within the Immunomodulation of Trauma Program and the Neurotrauma Department to determine ways of recuperating tissue following a hemorrhagic shock and head injuries.


Suzanne Fouche, Psy.S., NCSP

 

Mrs. Suzanne Fouche has been working as a mental health professional since 1988 in a variety of clinical settings. Her background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities. Mrs. Fouche earned her bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degrees at Gallaudet University, and is fluent in American Sign Language. She previously served as a service coordinator for adults with developmental disabilities in Montgomery County, Maryland, and earned Advocate of the Year Award. Mrs. Fouche currently works with children and adolescents as a school psychologist providing psychoeducational assessments, psychosocial consultation with teachers and parents, behavior management. She is familiar with Special Education services and the IEP process, and assists parents in understanding and navigating its process. Mrs. Fouche is a native of Northern Virginia, and lives with her husband and have one adult daughter, whom is a graduate of Annandale High School.


William C Coale II, MA.

 

Mr. Coale has ten years of clinical experience working with a diverse population of adolescents and families. A native Washingtonian, he received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH and his graduate degree with honors from Argosy University in Arlington, VA. Mr. Coale has extensive experience working with oppositional defiant and at risk youth. He has worked in residential settings, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the DC school system for nearly 15 years. Mr. Coale has also partnered with various social programs in the Montgomery County, MD area to provide counseling services to recently paroled juvenile offenders since 2008. Through his work with these populations Mr. Coale has gained experience treating many issues affecting children such as anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, conduct disorders, and issues related to trauma. Mr. Coale is a member of the American Counseling Association and lives in Maryland with his wife and two daughters.
